Nothing say ‘Happy Birthday’ like CAKE!!

I LOVE Cake Smash Sessions. The kids are HILARIOUS!! Most love it, but some cry. By the end of the cake smash session, most of them cry…but that is just because their sugar has worn off and it is now nap time 🙂

I was so excited for Molly to have her cake. She LOVES food, so I knew she would have a blast. I am not a super pink, girly person ( I have 2 older boys…so I am not used to pink) so I wanted to do something fun and colorful for her session.

I LOVE how it turned out.

Her headband is from Flourishing Creations.

Her diaper cover is from My 2 Lil Pixies.

One time when we were up visiting my husbands Nana we were in her garage. Hidden in the corner I saw an old Carousel Horse. I asked Nana about it and she said she had MADE IT our of an old plastic rocking horse. She had made a few of them and she used them as Christmas decorations. This was the only one left.

AMAZING.

Not only does she make the most amazing fried chicken, but she can also make Carousel Horses. She wins.

Then she said the 4 magic words, “You can have it.”

WHAT?! YES, PLEASE!!

So after a little…..well…a lot of convincing my husband about my need for this horse, we loaded it up and took it home. I knew from the start I would have to use this horse for my daughters one year photo session. After some paint it was ready to go!

I hope to do some Carousel Horse Mini Sessions in the future because she had so much fun on it and so should all little girls. 🙂

Wait…WHAT?! Where did this last year go?! I can’t believe she is already ONE. Amazing.

As you will see…I had more than one idea for her 1 year pictures. 🙂 I don’t think you are going to mind though since she might just be the cutest little girl in all the land. So she gets 3 blog posts.

Seriously…..get ready to squeeze your computer (or phone…depending on what you are on).

I have always wanted to do a Rosie the Riveter theme for pictures, so I had my mother-in-law make her up a denim jumper. SWEET MERCY. It was amazing. And then she also made her a headband…and then I died from the cuteness. She has an etsy shop filled with cuteness called Chubby Cheek Clothing and you should probably check it out. She makes the most amazing vintage/retro baby clothes. Seriously….go now… I can wait here for you ….

I love when my best friend calls me and wants to do pictures!

For her daughters sixth birthday she wanted to do something fun, to let her daughters personality shine.

Making sure the kids have FUN while taking pictures make for much better pictures.

And man, this session was a BLAST! I grabbed my kids to join in for a few pictures, since they all love each other so much, and we all had slurpees at the end!!

Happy Birthday Judah! We love you so much and are blessed to have you in our lives.

I love the spring! It is so fresh and so warm! You just MUST get out and take pictures … and so we did! The plan was to have the Spring Mini Sessions in a field of wild flowers, but due to our drought out here in California, there weren’t any. :/  So I drove around for TWO DAYS…WITH . MY . KIDS….it was nuts…..but then I found this great spot! So it was totally worth it. 🙂 This spot has turned into a place I visit regularly with my clients for Family Sessions.

The tall yellow grass is just lovely, and there is plenty of room for the kiddos to run around and get their wiggles out. The Sprint Minis turned out BEAUTIFUL and I can’t wait until next Spring to do them again!
